Anne writes stories where history, mystery, and romance entwine and every story holds a secret.
Her female protagonists, while strong and talented, have struggles to confront in their lives, which include falling for guys with troubled pasts (yes, the "wounded hero trope" is her favorite!) It all makes for complicated living and loving ~ and page-turning reads!
Anne's latest release is a time travel fantasy A TRYST IN PARIS. It has been selected as a 2024 Georgia Romance Writers Maggies Finalist, a Killer Nashville Top Pick, a Romance Writers of America Romance Through the Ages Finalist, and Georgia Author of the Year romance category finalist.

​WITH KISSES FROM CÉCILE, co-authored with Jan Agnello, was awarded the 2020 Georgia Independent Author of the Year Award in historical fiction and the Silver Award from Literary Titan.

The rights for Anne's sweet contemporary, A CHRISTMAS CANNOLI KISS, previously published with the Wild Rose Press, have reverted to her, and the book is currently out of print - yet you can order from Anne's website and possibly find copies still for sale on line. A self-published edition will be released at a future date.
Anne's work-in-progress is her FIRST-EVER COZY MYSTERY! Its working title is A VERY MISTLETOE MURDER, set in a 55+ active community ~ a little too active, when the protagonist, Lottie, finds a realtor murdered in the community's model home and all eyes are on her for the crime!
A BIT OF BIO

Anne Armistead earned her English literature degree from the University of Georgia and MFA in Creative Writing from Spalding University. She is a member of the Atlanta Writers Club and the Georgia Romance Writers. Her historical fiction With Kisses from Cecile (published 2020) and her time travel historical fiction A Tryst in Paris (published 2023) were awarded Georgia Independent Author of the Year.
Anne's work-in-progress is her first cozy mystery, A Very Mistletoe Murder.
As a retired English teacher, Anne enjoys putting her instruction experience to use by presenting writing craft workshops, with upcoming ones scheduled at the 2026 Georgia Romance Writers Moonlight and Magnolia Conference and the 2026 Writers Who Run Retreat. She also enjoys manuscript coaching.
Anne serves on the advisory board of The Feeney Legacy Project and supports its mission to advocate calling 911 and administering CPR to save lives of anyone in medical distress. When Anne is not writing, volunteering, or babysitting, she's reading the latest cozy mystery, taking nature walks, supporting charities, and watching BBC television. She and her husband enjoy spending time with their two grown daughters and their families and totally spoiling their three grandsons and four grand-dogs.
